- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
-
Stunning, not only for its beauty, but also for its extensive grounds, history dating back to the 15th century, and wine culture which lasted until the end of the 19th century. The harmonious combination of grape and grain that surround the property is the product of different eras; the result of the phylloxera plague that initially brought fortune, owing to the devastation of the French vineyards, and later destruction, changing the focus of farming in the region to crops and oil.The hotel is full of charming nooks just waiting to be discovered, such as the original oil pressing room which has been converted into an area for reading and relaxation, the old barn which is now a small restaurant, and the museum-worthy wine cellar still housing traditional casks. The family that owns this property, under the silhouette of Montserrat, keeps the spirit of the region alive and well. The farm house is a modern space with large, comfortable rooms affording delightful areas in which to read in peace or hold an uncommonly pleasant business meeting.
