We stayed here while visiting Carnaval. We thought the hotel was excellent; our room was very comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel couldn't be better placed. This is a gorgeous, historic, landmark hotel. So if you can pay the high rates, stay here at least once. It is truly magnificent, enormous and close to everything.
