“Great time at Howard Johnson in Hamilton”

Goal was to enjoy the waterwalls around the Hamilton area and hike on the Bruce Trail. The hotel was clean and good value for the money spent. Stayed at many of the same brand in the North West US and Canada, and this was a pleasant stay. Good access to all the amenities of Hamilton. Friendly front desk service.

I stayed at Howard Johnson this past February with a few friends. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the seemingly endless number of restaurants on Upper James. Rooms are run down and it gives an impression as if everything is falling apart. There were bugs in the bed - Still getting anti allergic tabs after a 2 night stay. Avoid staying here if you can. It gets quite noisy in the evenings - because of the hooters outlet downstairs. Cleaning staff seems to be trying its best... More

My stay was not a pleasant one. Fighting in adjoining room on Friday night, carried from inside to outside parking lot and then on Saturday night, prostitute and male friends fighting in hallway, police had to be called. “Really Hojo... shame on you.”

No need to go into too much detail, hotel is old and not maintained. Threadbear caprets, only half of electric outlets working, only one with cover, breakfast offering looked dangerous, hotel staff uninformed about surroundings, manager apathetic. Bed was surprisingly comfortable.
