I stayed for five nights in the spacious and very comfortable Bermudian Suite (Main Annex). The direct view of sunrises and sunsets along the harbour and Northumberland Shore was breathtaking. It was like a little piece of heaven and stepping onto the deck every day was a treat. The big treat - walking out of my charming "apartment" and into... More

Our room was upgraded for minimal additional cost so we had one of four rooms in the '"annex" adjacent to the main inn. A refrigerator, sitting area and large deck were bonuses. We enjoyed our full breakfasts of eggs and various accompaniments. Very similar to traditional English breakfasts for those who have traveled in the UK. More

We stayed at the Penthouse for 4 days our 13 year old loved the view from his sofa bed, our bed was comfortable and the room was spacious with microwave and frig. the only issue was the shower, too low so my husband who is 6ft 2inches tall could not shower and our son who is 5ft 9inches showered with... My husband and I stayed at Consulate on our way to PEI in July 2011. Friendly staff however very much in need of a clean up and upgrading. Beds are worn out as are the linens. Breakfast felt and tasted greasy and perhaps as we have had such wonderful experiences to date this was a let down. Enjoyed our visit... More

The owner of this establishment was a pleasure to deal with. The way we were greeted on arrival made us feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment we arrived. This building was a former U.S. consulate and is about 200 years old. From the main entrance, to our room, to the breakfast dining area, to a lounge area; which could... More

Came across this place by driving by and liking the looks of it and the location. You cannot beat the location - you can walk to the pier and restaurants. It was quiet and had everything we needed. The breakfast included was great and more than we expected. More

Tried 3 rooms to find one bed that was so-so (too soft). Rooms were very clean and decorated in 1800's style. Our room had a wonderful double bathtub. Excellent location on the harbour; walk to sites, restaurants, live entertainment. Noisy road on front of building; traffic and trucks at night and early morning. More

Supposedly the U.S. consul once lived here. Our large, comfortable room included a fake fireplace with fake fire and a bed with a canopy top like the ones you imagine royalty used, and maroon silk drapes. Everything was clean; we had a refrigerator in the room and wineglasses provided, along with a coffee setup and wi-fi. A balcony would have... More
