I stayed here in May 2012 and was awed by the service and room quality and beauty. The breakfasts were positively gourmet - 3 courses each morning, with something a little different each time. The owners and their children lovely and accommodating. The breakfast room and parlor were just beautiful, with the antique lamps, pump organ, and original carpet from... More

The building is incredible in a fantastic neighborhood (it is worth visiting it by foot, the ancient mansions are awesome). Very nice rooms and clean, excellent breakfast. I had to get up early one morning for it was my graduation from university of victoria and the staff was able to accomodate me with an early breakfast, which was very much... More

We stayed here four nights. The building is lovely but the service had some odd moments. The breakfast room had no heat although the outside temperature was 10 degrees. It would help to have a printed list of the menu offerings because the waitress wasn't forthcoming with options unless pressed. For example, when my wife declined an omlette on our... More

Second stay for us at this Inn and will return. Beautiful rooms with high cielings, wonderful breakfast served every morning, amazing staff. The Inn is located about 2 miles from the center of Victoria so might want to have a car Highly recommended.

We agree with all the compliments about this Inn that the other reviewers have given. But unfortunately, our visit was seriously marred by the weather - something that we did not anticipate, and the Inn was not equipped to handle. We stayed at the Inn for two nights during the first week of August. Victoria was unexpectedly hot. Our room... More

We love character inns--we go out of out way to stay at them. The amethyst was lovely on first appearance, but once inside the room kinda average. Perhaps we went in with too high expectations but the room really was just old not really special like the Gatsby Inn. The breakfast was excellent but the hosts made you feel at... More

My husband and I found this place by chance on the internet and we were encouraged by the reviews on Tripadvisor. This beautifully preseved establishment is charming and period details are gorgeous. Do NOT be put off it not being in Down-Town Victoria - there is plenty of transport into DT which is no more than 10 mins away by... More

If you like to stay in beautiful old homes that have stood the test of time, this is a wonderful inn with incredible detail and lasting quality that you will enjoy. An automated gate leads to private grounds. During our stay Serina, Olivia and Dennis made us feel very welcome, offering delicious three course breakfasts each morning. A beautiful staircase... My husband and I stayed at the Amethyst Inn for one night on May 12, 2012. The hostess, Olivia, was very gracious and attentive. She made arrangements for our breakfast to be served to us a little later than usual in order to accommodate my husband's schedule after running the Oak Bay 1/2 marathon. Breakfast was served for us after... More

Back visiting my home town and I loved staying here. The owners were new at the time and they were very particular about good service and the home is a gorgeous piece of history in Victoria. A short walk from downtown and lots of free parking. Something different for visitors to Victoria away from the Inner Harbour.
