You definitely need a car while staying at Balos Beach hotel. The building is situated at the start of the unpaved road to Gramvoussa. The different appartments are big enough, clean and have a wonderful view over the sea and or the big swimming pool. Balos beach has no neighbour buildings and lies a bit remote. We stayed there for a week. The room was quite simple, but very comfortable, and clean. The staff was great! Very helpful, and kind. The dinner was also simple, but delicious, traditional greek food. “Absolutely Amazing! Great Staff/Views of Ocean”

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Anna (owner) went above and beyond to accommodate us. Breakfast/coffee served in the morning for free. Free wi-fi. Stunning views from our room overlooking the ocean. If you want a place close to Balos beach this is it. Great price as well.

This hotel is on the relatively small road which heads out along the narrow peninsula to Balos in North west Crete. At the time of our stay, October 2009, things were reasonably quiet. “Probably the best place to spend relaxing holidays.”

Hotel staff is rude and unpleasant and unhelpfull. Noisy. Bad beds. Hardly impossible to speep in. I hate balos beach hotel.
