This hotel is very convenient to the main north-south highway in Playa del Carmen -- right at an exit. It is also within walking distance of the town shopping district and only a few hundred yards from a very large shopping center. Excellent stay.

Clean room, comfortable very large bed. Desk staff understood enough English to help us. Nice selection of food for breakfast which was served from 7 o'clock. Pool a bit small. Coffee maker in room if you like black coffee. Safe in room. No fridge. Ice from reception. Free wi-fi in lobby. Not far from Xcaret by car.

We stayed at the HIExp in Playa during the Christmas season of 2012. It was a very clean and comfortable hotel The daily breakfast was good and complete..albeit a bit too consistent as we stayed 6 nights and ate almost the same everyday. The staff was very accommodating and helpful and friendly..spoke good English as well.
