My father and I stayed here in March and loved every minute of it. If you are looking for a "hotel" experience this might not be for you . The house is actually a private home that I believe is rented out as a bed and breakfast when the owner is away. It is a charming, private property..For us ,... More

I stayed here over the holiday season December-January 2012-13. It's a nice place, great architecture and a lovely courtyard, but let down by one or two little things, for example, at breakfast (included) you're offered eggs any style - my girlfriend chose scrambled - what arrived appeared to scrambled egg rather than eggs. To add insult to injury when we... More

The villa is just as you see it in the photos. It is a former family home and is on a very busy street, although you do not hear it inside. There is parking in a locked lot across the street. It is about a 10 block walk to the main plaza and we walked it many times without fear... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Villa Merida over the Christmas holiday. The Villa Merida is a perfect example of the Spanish Colonial architecture Merida is famous for. We were treated like royalty by the staff, Luis and Alan. From picking us up at the airport at midnight on Chrismas day to answering a million questions, they... More

Villa Merida best captures our impression of the city of Merida. Friendly, charming, historic and colorful. We used this as a base to travel to Uxmal and Chichen Itza. The center of Merida is only few blocks away and is worth a visit on a weekend evening. Louis and Alan were extremely friendly and good cooks, always eager to cater... More

Staying at the Villa Merida made our visit to Merida special. The hotel is in an old converted house and it still has that homely, friendly feel, largely because of Luis and Alan. They couldn't have been nicer. This is no bland hotel, where you could be anywhere in the world - it has real Yucatan charm.

I was with my fiance' one night in the Hotel Villa Merida in Merida to break between a Maya ruins and the next beach stay. The Hotel has as a matter of fact a glmorous structure and Alan the manager was very friendly and helpful, however it is in my opinion overprized as it is far away to be a... More

We arrived at the hotel to find that is was 15 minutes from the centre, in an unprepossessing street. The hotel had got the date of our stay wrong and claimed we had booked three 2 bedroom suites (despite there only being my wife and I and two kids). We were shown around two dark and depressing rooms with the... More

Family of four spent a few days here as part of a Yucatan vacation. Within easy reach of the city centre (and airport) this small hotel looks even better in reality, more than living up to the photos on their web site. Rooms were large, cool and comfortable with delightful views into the courtyard and gardens. Splendid colonial style architecture... More

My family of three spent five days in this splendid hotel. Luis and Allen catered to our every need and made us feel like we were family. We spent time in the pool, had an excellent breakfast and slept in a very clean and comfortable large room. Everything was stress free and the hospitality was excellent. Thank you luis and... More
