I spent 7 nights in a single room with private bathroom. I was many years older than the average person staying at the posada but was invited to meals by other guests and treated as one of the group. Simon, one of the staff, was an absolutely kind and helpful person and even joined me for a visit to a... More

Very laid back place, great location close to the streets with bars and restaurants. Close to a great matkedplace, where you can buy everything from avokados to live chickens. The rooms are fine, and eventhough the bathrooms are unisex it worked out fine for us.

A fantastic little hostel. Very cheap, but not lacking in cleanliness or character. Beautiful little building with warm and homely atmosphere. Very helpful staff. We took a private double room, which was small but clean and comfortable. Laundry and cooking facilities are basic but sufficient - lots places to eat well in town anyway. Slept well, although a minor niggle... More

For $21 a night, we got a private room with a private bathroom, towels, a light breakfast and maid service. It's hard to classify Abuelito as a hostel when the service is this good. The staff was extremely available and helpful, common areas were clean and comfortable, and the location wasn't bad (though it's a longer walk from the zocalo... More

I had booked a 3 night stay, but ended up leaving after two. The place itself is lovely, really clean and the staff are good. However I ended up there at a time when a few young idiots were determined to keep everyone else awake most of the night. My room was right next to the kitchen, facing into the... More

This was a great place to stay. Owners and staff were friendly, helpful and relaxed, beds were comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean. It was a little further from the centre than other hostels, but was close enough that I felt safe walking back at night. The central patio is cosy and a cool spot to hang out and meet people.... $110 peso for a dorm with wifi, hot water that takes no time to heat (very important-its freezing), and home made bread and jam with a little fruit for breakfast. The breakfast isnt really sufficent or as much as manh other hostels i went too, but as a bread lover, the toast and jam were really tasty. You can even... More

A charming little hostal run by some sweet-as-miel French people. This place ideal for people who dont want a party-hard vibe but still like to be social and stay in a welcoming place. The shared bathrooms are one of the best ive experienced. Clean, spacious, nice decor and so hot you wont want to get out. The house-made, secret recipe... More

We stayed in a private room with a shared restroom outside. Our stay was great, the room was clean and the prize was the best part! In the morning you can have coffee, fruit, home madr bread and home made jam...so good!

I really, really loved Posada del Abuelito and it’s definitely one of my all-time favourite hostels. We stayed in a private room with bathroom and our room was beautiful. The rooms definitely have a rustic-chic vibe going on which I just loved, as did the people travelling with me, and the bathrooms were more than up-to-scratch, in fact in all... More
