A family run inn with six colorfully appointed rooms ringing a courtyard resplendent with flowering shrubs, fruit trees and soaring palms, Casa Panchita is steeped in local culture and committed to traditional hospitality. The food is exquisite, the service unfailingly polite and attentive. The spotless rooms, decorated with whimsical Oaxacan folk art, are spacious and airy. The staff can provide... More

I used to say that when I won the lottery I’d buy a vacation home in Oaxaca. Fortunately, I don’t have to wait for the numbers to line up because I’ve found a home at Casa Panchita. This inviting guesthouse offers a retreat where time slows down a bit and flowers bloom more vividly. The simple comforts and warmth of... More

I have been staying at Casa Panchita for 50 years, and it is always a wonderful experience. The bedroons are in several separate casitas surrounding a lovely garden. Fruit trees and flowers are bursting with color. Casa Panchita is a shortwalk from the main plaza in the center of Oaxaca. The lovely stroll takes you past quiet streets lined with... More

My husband and I just returned from an amazing week at Casa Panchita. The setting is gorgeous and comfortable, filled with beautiful, interesting Oaxacan art. Panchita is a gourmet Oaxacan cook, and the food at every meal was amazing. We were well taken care of by the warm and thoughtful staff. This was our first trip to Oaxaca and it... More

I spent 5 months at Casa Panchita and it was wonderful. You can't beat the hospitality anywhere. Panchita continues to provide fantastic meals. The comfort is tops and the tranquility of the garden is soothing. Interesting guests from all over the world. It is a home away from home without the responsibilities.

Gracious, kind, funny hosts who go out of their way to make your stay special (like giant puppets stopping by for my birthday!). Fantastic food. Beautiful city. Lovely casa - each room different and full of art. Fascinating environs. Want to relax? Go here. Bring friends/family. Celebrate. Stay in and read/talk/swim or roam the streets of Oaxaca -- plenty to... More

If you want to visit Mexico, eat the most amazing traditional mexican food you'll ever have, stay in a safe and beautiful setting, then make reservations for Casa Panchita. I first lived there for 3 months, 28 years ago when I was attending a Travel Semester while in Architectural School. My wife took me back for my 50th Birthday, 3... More

I have stayed in Casa Panchita five times over the past 11 years and it is fabulous. Breakfast is included and always lovely, and you may be able to opt for lunch and/or dinner too if it's offered when you stay. Every meal includes platters of the best fruit Oaxaca has to offer (and that's saying something). All the food... More

We have traveled in Mexico and the Caribbean for countless years. We always return to Casa Panchita. Everything in the previous reviews is accurate--the warm, caring and knowledgeable hosts, the delicious healthy food, the natural and folkloric beauty, convenient location. In addition, there is a spirit of home, maybe left behind by all of the contented people who have lived... More
