This is a re-review, as my husband and I stayed at Sammy's in November 2009. Overall, our experience was similar, but slightly different. The main difference was that Sammy Thurston, the owner and namesake of the resort, passed away in February 2011. The community misses him greatly, and the resort is just not the same without him. The rooms are like bungalows very well kept and charming. The hotel has a beautiful beach and it is just great to walk from the bungalow. The food is nicely prepared by the hotel team and it is tasty. The hotel team is simply friendly and helpful. It is a nice place to stay
