HHVR is a peaceful getaway steeped in true serenity & tranquil bliss. Find yourself and reconnect with what's important. The resort is situated on nearly 10 lush acres of Bennett's Harbour, nestled along a breathtaking beach. It is just minutes south of Arthur's Town where you can enjoy restaurants like Da Smoke Pot, Hot Spot, Gina's Takeaway and Boggey Pond Restaurant; as well as craft shops and cultural/historical sites like the childhood home of Sir Sydney Poitier. Bennett's Harbour has a small dock that opens to a well-preserved creek system that is excellent for kayaking, snorkeling, sea turtle spotting and bone fishing (and is only a few short minutes paddle right from the beach at Halvorson House.) The community of Bennett's Harbour is a quaint settlement with a library, car rental, gas station and a few mom-and-pop shops including Yardie’s and Derek’s Conch Shack. Just up the road visitors can enjoy live rake n’ scrape music nightlife at Dis’ We Place, home of the Bahamas Lasido Boys. Mary, Margaret and Minerva, the elders of Bennett’s Harbour, make traditional platt bags and hats and are always happy to share their talent and crafts with drop-in visitors. Bennett’s Harbour and Halvorson House are great locations to experience true local Cat Island hospitality. Halvorson House is also a favorite hangout for playing dominos Bahamian-style after dinner as well as for enjoying each other’s company after Sunday services. Visitors to Cat Island shouldn't miss a vibrant church service or revival at a variety of denominational churches or a walking tour of historical Mount Alvernia. At the resort there are 5 unique villas with 1, 2 or 3 beds, 1 to 2 bathrooms, sitting rooms with large windows and private decks about 30 feet the beautiful beach and calm blue water. They are uniquely decorated with special island and comforting touches. The beds feature 1500 tc Egyptian cotton and the bathrooms are stocked with eco-friendly custom-made amenities and plush bath & beach towels. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes from traditional Bahamian to fusion, Mexican and American classics. The resort has it's own professional grade reverse osmosis water system to guarantee excellent drinking and bathing water for the guests. Hospitality and helpfulness are paramount at HHVR - enjoy the real Cat Island here.
