Terrible. The worst service ever. Don’t have a clue about what a culture of excellence service is. Staff in the Veranda are the worst, we were waiting for approx. 40 minutes for then to tell us that the kitchen was closed. I even had to take the trash and towels from the room to the cleaning lady. I don’t recommend this place.

We rented 2 rooms in their newer tower facing the main road ocean view. One of the rooms was much quieter than the other one. I think the soundproofing had been removed or damaged from recent hurricanes. The AC did not work great. At times very humid inside the room with rust on several things (mostly cosmetic things.) The pool was fantastic and the kids had a blast. Service was excellent. Food was good and the staff always want to help. Overall good experience

NOT APPROPIATE FOR SMALL BUSINESS EVENTS For business reasons, I paid for the stay, breakfasts, dinner and parking of 4 people, 4 rooms from December 12 to 14, 2022 at this hotel. As part of the work that these 4 people were going to do for me, they asked to be able to meet for about 3 hours a day in a private space of the hotel on the day of their arrival and the day of departure. I notify to “reservations” of this requirement when making the arrangements and paid in advance the lodging. Three days before the arrival, the hotel contacted me and told me that for those 2 meetings of 4 people, I had to sign a formal contract with the “Banquet Office” and they offered me an amphitheater with capacity for 150 to 200 people at a cost of $500 per meeting. I told them that I was not going to hold a convention or party and that my need was for a table for 4 people, but they insisted that the only thing they could offer to me was the anti-theater and that I had to pay them in advance. After this, they insistently made phone calls and sent emails pressing me for the payment of the amphitheater in advance and threatened to cancel everything if I did not pay the requested dates within three days. Long story short…I had to cancel one of the meeting and paid $459.00 for a simple table and 4 chairs so my guests could meet on December 12th no matter I brought them the lodging business with dinners and breakfasts for 2 days. Definitely, this hotel is NOT SUITABLE for this type of lodging needs. I will never consider them again.

Mayaguez Resort & Casino is nice place to stay and maintains a high standard as 46 years ago when I first stayed here. The new tower has impeccable rooms with a view to the sunset. Its a pity I come to work as the hotel pool facilities and other amenities are inviting. December’s cool weather and Xmas spirit is as good as it gets

Old hotel and needs an update. Stained carpet tiles, grayish sheets that should be white, flat sheets used instead of fitted sheets, that was fun trying to keep them on. Had third floor room and had no wi-fi. Took over two hours to try to get, and then we just were frustrated and gave up. Finally the manager took one of us to a lower floor and we could get wi-fi there and we could switch rooms, problem is, we were already showering and getting relaxed, and they told us we could change our room, by that time it is to late. Was suppose to be buffet breakfast and they changed that during the week, watch your charges, for every cup of coffee they charge, and I think they charged us the price for a bigger cup, and all we got was a small cup of coffee. Breakfast was good. Lazy river was fun, NOTE - you need a credit card for everything down by the lazy river so make sure you have yours handy and not put away in your vehicle. You think the help would be a little more ambitious, clean up the poop along side the river, cut back on overgrowth. The refund we received for the NO WI-FI was a big $16.65 credit, which we expected more. Four people in a room, need to ask for extra towels and no wash clothes.

I never thought to stay in a place like this and that they allow people to stay in a place like this. We booked through a page in Puerto Rico known as Gustazos, where the offer was $412 at the Mayaguez Resort & Casino for 2 adults and 1 child for 3 days and 2 nights, nothing cheap by the way. When you arrive at the reception to check in, a fish tank with worms awaits you 🤢 which is the first sign to leave the place. Then at the check in which took forever and we were the next in line, we were waiting for more than 30 minutes and other employees who had already served other guests continued to use their cell phones and did not say next. When going up the room the door barely opened, I cut my hand with the lock when opening it. The room needs an urgent renovation or close the hotel. There is a lot of moisture on the carpet and a strong smell of dust. The ceiling with cobwebs, the sheets, curtains, towels, and carpets all dirty, broken cabinets. In the bathroom the sink did not work the drain was covered. The bathroom filter clogged with dust, the bathtub super uncomfortable, less than 2 feet wide. There is a towel board inside the bathtub 🤦‍♂️. If you need to do some computer work and you need a good Wi-Fi internet, no problem. There is no signal and we were on the top floor. There is a fridge inside the room in poor condition. The TV control did not work and the phone in the room barely heard the tone. In our friend's room there were cockroaches, in the hallway there was a leak in the ceiling that seems to have been going on for years and they don't fix it, they cut part of the carpet and placed a trash can to let the water fall. total disaster, do not stay in this place if you have respiratory problems there is a lot of humidity, but in reality do not stay in a place that is so expensive and with such bad cleaning.

I don't recommend that hotel, the rooms look sloppy, the carpets stink, the doors are fluffy and out of square, the bedding and towels are worn, they need urgent remodeling. The staff is not friendly, when you ask a question they are defensive, everything is a resounding no. They don't have a microwave in the room and the small fridge barely cools bottles of water. Children aren’t included in the breakfasts and they have a very limited menu with many products that they only sell separately, example something as basic as pancakes. The water park needs urgent maintenance, the pools had excrement apparently from iguanas, they put too much chlorine in them that irritates your skin and eyes, the tables and chairs are broken and if you suffer from chronic conditions they don’t let you take your special food to force you to buy what they sell only junk food and alcohol. Don't waste your money, the photos they share are old when the facilities were new.

Worst hotel stay I have had in my life!!!! The room was filthy with hair on most of towels, the place was falling apart with no hot water and very muggy; there were flies stuck on the bathroom wall like if someone sprayed them with bug spray and never wiped them off, the bathroom door was very hard to open and close cause of age and worn. There is no space in the bathroom to take a shower, I had to leave the curtain open and stand sideways in the tub in order to not rub on the dirty shower curtain or the wall, rooms were definitely not disinfected regardless of current covid issues going around. They charge you for parking, pool towels, water tubes to go on the lazy river and everything you do in addition to the overpriced stay, the customer service sucks there is none; from day one checking in I talked to the front desk manager cause it was unreal on how check in was being done and he seem like he didnt care while hearing many people complian while waiting on line for over 40 minutes or so just to check in what a nightmare. There is also a parking issues very tight and crowded almost impossible to get a parking, there is only 1 elevator that fits 4 to 5 people max paid over 700 dollars for 3 nights expecting a nice resort vibe but it was not, couldn't even have family members visit unless they paid to go to the pool and were not allowed in rooms cause of hotel insurance policy according to one lady, and then when I asked another it was fine no one is on the same sheet of music, unbelievable that a resort of this size is as bad as it is, not to mention there are roaches in the restaurant bar area where we personally saw roaches walking at lunch time and overheard a lady complaining to the restaurant manager about the issue and that she would like to get her money back and leave, they kept pushing her around, telling her we cant do nothing as she kept talking from one manager to the other, the same way I did. On the other hand its okay my experience was awful and there was nothing they cared or did to make my stay pleasant, but I hope I could be of help to others before they go and have these issues. There are two buildings on this property, one property seem to be decent and the other should be closed, I could keep complaining for days on how terrible it is and how rude the staff is and how careless the management seem its sad that there is no pride in what they do and are there for just a paycheck. I have videos that I can't upload but with the pics below you should be able to get the point. Thank you for reading and hopefully your stay is better than ours

The only thing nice about this hotel was their pool area and the views/scenery. This hotel is filthy! We switched rooms because the 1st room they put us in had a bathroom that hadn't even been cleaned, still had someone's hair all over the shower wall and the room itself was as tiny as a box. The 2nd room they moved us to was still dirty. There was a black ring around the inside of the toilet, gross stuff on the outside bottom of the toilet, The floors look like they had not been mopped as their were someone's footprints that we noticed as soon as we walked in the room, rust and nastiness all around the shower, sheets that were a size too small and didn't even fit the bed, no blanket, only a sheet on the bed to sleep with, and we found a little bug crawling the bed (i don't know what kind of bug it was, but at least it was not a bed bug.) I'm honestly surprised that we didn't see any cockroaches in this hotel during our time here. That's how dirty it is. There was a coffee maker in the room but no coffee. The on-site restaurant closed early every night Man they had a very limited menu. During check-in I also saw the check-in employee making copies of the customers ahead of me credit cards, front & back. The credit card info was already in their computer system so I found that very sketchy. I watched the check-in employee's every move when he had my card to ensure he did not make a copy of it. This place was just overall sketchy. It has a lot of potential but definitely needs lots of upgrades and a thorough cleaning. I do not recommend this hotel.
