We have stayed twice at the Hotel Tavern. The rooms are clean, the breakfast very good , the staff are friendly and professional. The view from the rooms are awesome. There is great scuba diving tours organised by the management. Very, very nice corals..

We've given up with "Hostel Tavern" in Surigao. Firstly, they work their regular catering staff Mondays thru Saturdays thus, come a Sunday, our regular night of stay. the air conditioned restaurant is closed, all the "professional" staff being on their one day off of the week, thus one finds oneself being subjected to eating outside in the mosquito infested car... I have now spent time at this hotel twice and found it to be a great place to stay,staff very friendly and helpful, i spent both visits in west wing with sea-view balcony and found it most enjoyable, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and don't understand why anyone would complain about the stay there.
