We spent the most memorable period at Casa do Castelo Novo during our two-week family trip. The scenery and the village are absolutely breathtaking and we'd like to praise our hostess, Alice. Casa do Castelo Novo is a lovely setting within a quaint Portuguese village. The rooms were large and very clean, and we stepped out of them into an attractive yard w/views all around. We traveled through Portugal and Spain for 25 days and Casa do Costelo Novo is probably our favorite and most delightful stay. Casa de Castelo Novo is a wonderful place to stay if you wish to experience the life in a small Portuguese village (aldeia). It is also an excellent base to explore the region and interesting places like Monsanto, Idanha-a-Velha, Belmonte, Sortelha and even Serra da Estela. The vilage is small but charming.
