I stayed here with the wife for 1 night. Our room was amazing (junior suite), dinner was perfect and breakfast...wow: foodie heaven. Staff were superb. The icing on the cake was that it was only 60 minutes from Cork City (South Link). It wasn’t cheap but well worth the price. We stayed in Dromoland Castle a few months after this... More

Went to The old convent on Saturday night for dinner, the 8 plate taster menu. It was absolutely out of this world. The flavour and variety of the dishes excite your pallette in a different way but amazingly compliment each other perfectly. I've been told the menu changes according to what's in season which is always a good sign. The... More

I can't honestly think of one negative in relation to my recent stay in the old convent. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. Warm welcome . Absolutely unbelievable food . Treats available 24hrs. Peace and quiet . I could go on forever. More

Room 7 was beautiful, huge bath, big room, soft bed. Lovely bubble bath, decent hairdryer. No conditioner, bring your own. Meal was again, delicious. 8 courses, 2 of... More

I have been to The Old Convent twice and both times i was blown away by the standard which is presented here. At arrival we were brought into the greeting area and offered a glass of wine and given our menu. You are taken into the Dining room for 8 and it is a very relaxed, warm atmosphere. To my... More

We went to the Old Convent for my daughter's 18th birthday, with her younger siblings and parents. We were in the drawing room, and had the most fantastic time. The food was beautiful, the variety fascinating, and everything was excellent. Although I had only mentioned it in passing when we were booking a birthday cake arrived at the end of... More

We stayed for a night in June and from the minute we walked in to when we left we loved the Old Convent. Christine and Dermot are fantastic hosts and we were lucky enough to meet the newly arrived puppy. The little cakes in the drawing room were superb, though we passed on the tea and just went for a...
