We felt so comfortable on our previous trip that we decided to return for a family get-together in July. Am looking forward to a great Irish breakfast, great weather? and good fun. So nice to be returning to a place where we feel welcome. More

My family and I were planning a large family vacation and had read some prior reviews of your hotel, which were not flattering. We decided to take the chance anyway and were so glad we did!!! The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The amenities were great and the staff was fantastic. Thanks much, we will be back to visit next... More

We stayed at the hotel for two days this last weekend and had an unbelieivaable experience despite past comments we read on this site. The food was fabulous, the bar staff was delightful and the room was very comfortable. This was a great experience that made our stay very delightful and we are planning on going back soon. More

We stayed here for one night, the hotel is very depressing. The room was very old and so was the bed linen. The breakfast was so poor, the brown bread was stale and the fry I think was cooked earlier in the week and reheated. A very disappointing stay. The receptionist was lovely and friendly. Its hard to find your... More

I stayed here for 2 nights for the Irish St Leger meeting at the Curragh. Its very handy for the race track being less than a stone's throw from the Grandstand - hence the name of the hotel presumably. The rooms were pretty good, clean enough and nicely furnished. Comfortable bed and a proper TV set (not one of those... More

After seeing some of the reviews of this hotel we nearly cancelled our booking of 4 nights last week but are so glad we didnt. Yes the bedrooms are a bit tired but they are perfectly clean and have all the facilities you would wish for. The helpful and friendly staff more than made up for the tired rooms, and... More

I stayed in this hotel for the location as it was near where I was working, but if I ever have to work in the area again I will drive for an hour if needed to get another place to stay. It started with no towels in my room then having to manage the water mix to get a shower,... More

I live in the nearby town of Newbridge. To cut a long story short, we were moving house, the bank didn't process our mortgage efficiently (long story!) and we found ourselves homeless for a couple of nights as we had to vacate the house we were moving out of. The natural place to go was the Standhouse for a decent... More

I stayed here for a weekend. I stayed with my daughter, we just wanted a break from the city and have time to catch up without having to drive long distance.. The rooms were old and shabby but were clean, there was a lot of work going on in the hotel and I could see that it was being modernised... More
