I think the title says it all! I love holidaying at home and usually go to the west of Ireland, usually Galway and sometimes onto Limerick and as far as Cork. I had never really thought of staying in Northern Ireland until this year when I was browsing for something quiet, safe, child friendly and a home from home. On... More

Over the last five years we have had the opportunity to stay in most of the cottages. Each cottage is different. The facilities / equipment in each cottage range from the pretty basic to extremely comprehensive. The 3 star cottages are all near the tennis court and childrens playground whilst the 5 star cottages are near the burn / river... More

My Husband and I Booked the Leckan Beg Cottage for a weekend trip away. We also brought our Dog along with us. We had a fantastic couple of days. Not only was the cottage ideally located (with beautiful scenery surrounding the accomodation), but it had everything (and more) than what we were expecting. The open Fire was also a big... More

My wife & I booked Crotlieve Cottage kind of on a last minute basis on the run up to a bank holiday weekend & were lucky that it was free. We booked it through Dee Dee who was really friendly. The cottage is about 2 miles outside the sleepy village of Rostrevor. If arriving via warren point just continue towards... More

Absoutly beautiful place - views were amazing and the cottage was lovely too. We were a group of 5 girls on a relaxing long weekend and very impressed. The cottage was comfortable, with a large lounge/dining room area, nice kitchen, 3 bathrooms and 3 good sized bedrooms. the views were amazing and had a little childrens play area, tennis courts... I recently spent a relaxing long weekend at Lecale cottages and really can not say enough positive things about my experience. On our arrival, my partner and I were delighted to find a large and comfortable living room complete with a real open fire which was lovely surprise. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped and would ideal for preparing a family... More

Located in the foothill of the Mourne mountains the Lecale Cottages were the perfect base for our relaxing weekend break. Our cottage was spotlessly clean and really well equipped with all the essentials, but the owners really went the extra mile with the personal touches…biscuits, fuel for the fire, milk for the tea, etc…..exactly what you want after a long... We have stayed at Lecale Cottages twice and now always use it as a base when visiting family nearby. The reason we come back to Lecale Cottages every time we return to Ireland is that the cottages are a home from home. The cottages are lovely, clean and peaceful and the owners really do think of everything to make your... More

My friends and I have stayed at Lecale Cottages in the Mourne Mountains on several occasions. We take part in cycling (on- and off-road), hill-walking, and rock-climbing, and the Mournes are a beautiful area to discover. The setting of the cottages is perfect for access to the mountains, with fantastic views down the valley. The nearby village has some great... More
