This hotel occupies a beautiful building with an elegant marble and wooden staircase. There are spacious grounds with an attractive-looking (unheated) swimming pool and there is plenty of car parking. We stayed here for 3 days whilst visiting Aveira - ( Venice of Portugal ). Coimbra - Old University Town and the nearby Roman Ruins Lovely location with very friendly staff and good parking on outskirts of a charming little town. We had a very pleasant stay here. It's a little out of the way, but just a short walk into the town. The gardens across the road are unfortunately opened just once per year. Breakfast food, but not up to the standard of the pousada in Guimares, though we did have delicious mango one day.

This is a very good hotel and we enjoyed our stay. We had a room overlooking the garden with a terrrace. The room had everything we needed. As some people have mentioned, there are some overdue maintenance issues. We noticed some chipped paint on the wordrobe doors and a broken tile in the bathroom but nothing major. Good breakfast. The main attraction of the Condeixa (pronounced Kon-day-sha) pousada is likely to be its location, half way up Portugal and a very short distance from the A1 motorway.
