My third visit to Ballykine was a delight! As always, Ann welcomed us with a cup of tea and a showing of the movie, The Quiet Man. Our rooms had been beautifully redone with well stocked bathrooms. The menu included both Irish Breakfast and other choices. We felt so at home, as I had on earlier visits. Due to blustery weather... Upon our arrival to the Ballykine House in Clonbur, Ireland, Ann met us with the warmest of welcomes possible. Her B & B was absolutely spotless and her Irish Breakfast was delicious. Ann shared with us the history of the House and also personal stories, which we really enjoyed. The location was great, lakes all around. Animals right outside the... More

The purpose of this review is to point out that the review entitled "Grande Arnaque" posted by "juanitad" of Barcelona on 13 June 2009 is totally incorrect. The rates at Ballykine are €35 per night sharing and €45 single occupation and have been the same for a number of years. I suspect that the complainants contacted Renvyle House Hotel in... More

We have just popped up without prior reservation, and soonly realized that it was the last resort for us. During our last three days in Ireland, we have been continuously in Ann's attentive care. That was definitely discreet and very polite. We would recommend Ballykine House for all people who love the nature, walk in the country, and appreciate calm... More

Quietly located off a small road, a drive towards the house opens up into a magnificent view of the Lough and surrounding mountains. Wow! we all said at once. Breathtaking views and a welcome inside this delightful home. Comfortable, quiet and well-appointed rooms with a nice lounge in which to relax. The breakfast was perfect and overall the hospitality and... More

From beginning to end Ballykine House is an excellent experience. We first contacted this B&B for booking via the internet we received a very prompt response. We asked several questions about the B&B as well as the area and all were answered. The price quoted was accurate on arrival. We were greeted by Ann Lambe (The Owner) and were very... More

The surroundings of lush green grass, forest and pasture as well as the view that we had of the lough from our room made our stay a magical one. This was our last night in the countryside of Ireland before heading off to Dublin to return to the states (oh no!!!) and Ballykine was just what we needed for a... More

We absolutely LOVED our (too short) time at the Ballykine House. The house itself is a 200 year old Guinness lodge up on a hillside overlooking the villages of Cong and Clonbur, and Lough Mask. We got in quite late and were greeted by Mrs. Lamb, the lovely hostess. She offered us tea and cake to "shake the dust of... More
