Sure, if you are expecting 5 star luxury, and immaculate modern design, then you will be disappointed - but you will also have missed the whole point of this place. The cabins are very nice. No AC, no phones, no TV but very nice people to help you. The restaurnant is very good and has a good selection of wines. You can rent boats, canoes, so for a sail on a large sail boat, go hiking, swimming in the lake or the pool.

Other reviewers have comented on the shabby state of the rooms and the excellent guided tours so I am going to focus on the thing i think this property can address most easily: the kitchen and dining room. Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay. Activities program is superb...you can choose kayaking with a steak lunch, hiking or canoe adventures lead by knowledgable and friendly guides(in our case it was Jake). for so many of us .... the Killarney Mountain Lodge is indeed the Holy Grail..... the accomodation is just fine... the food- home cooked and delicious ,,,, drinks in the Carousel Bar - therapeutic... and the songs of the amazing Andy Lowe- the best !!!! all something we want to come back for year after year after year....
