We stayed at Puffin Quoy for three nights in May 2013. The apartment was so much more than we expected. Every detail- from the quality appliances, the bedroom furniture, the bathroom and spa, the kitchen (with its wonderful sparkle in the granite bench-top), the decor and views from the living room reflected both a vision for hospitality and a respect for... We stayed at Caroline and Kevin's B and B for two nights in May. It was our favorite accommodation during our 2 week trip to Scotland. We liked the location since it was out of town but in between Stromness and Kirkwall and close to some of the main sites. It is also very close to the ferry to the... More

Puffin quoy has earned every single star it has been awarded! It is the most beautiful, luxurious conversion of an old farm building, cleverly designed with the living/ dining area having floor to ceiling glass walls turning the room into a luxurious wild life hide! We loved the decor and furnishings, underfloor heating and multifuel stove for a chilly evening.... More

Its great to have such positive feedback about The Puffin, we really have tried to make it somewhere we would love to stay too. Thank you once again for such a positive review, they make a real difference... More

It is almost with a Dickensian pettiness that I write this review of the Quoy of Houton. First, I nearly never get motivated to write them and secondly and most importantly, it is such a wonderful place and with such wonderful people, that like Scrooge it feels almost too good to share. Me and my girlfriend stayed at this B&B... More

We spent four amazing days at the Quoy of Houton B&B and enjoyed every second of it. Caroline and Kevin were lovely hosts, who truly made us feel at home (every morning, half an hour before breakfast, Caroline would bring us tea and when we got back from a day of exploring the islands, there were always two slices of... Thank you so much for the lovely review! We really enjoyed having you both to stay and look forward to meeting up with you again in the future. Hopefully we will have expanded the flock by then, some new hens to help lighten the laying load! More

We stayed four nights at the Quoy of Houton B&B and thoroughly enjoyed it I'm trying to find a reason to give it less than perfect marks, but can't think of any! The house is lovely with beautiful landscaping. Ours was a spacious, clean and comfortable room, Caroline and Kevin wonderful were hosts and the location was great for exploring... More

I've eventually found the time to write this review as we stayed in the small self catering Puffin Quoy at the beginning of September for a week to explore the Orkney Islands. From the moment we arrived Caroline and Kevin were very welcoming. The basket of goodies with fresh bread and home-made cakes was lovely. The accommodation has all mod-cons... More

This is a very well appointed property with comfortable sofas, a really good tv with internet, good wifi connection and above all great views over the water. The owners are charming and helpful to a fault. You are well placed to travel over Orkney from here (car essential I would say, anywhere in Orkney). Watching the sun rise or set... More

nice couple leading the house, very clean, comforting, excellent cooking, fullfilling wishes; beautiful garden and grand view from the big double bed to the sea in a good distance to city but also not so far to take ferries, ideal for Hoy but even to the north isles its just a quarter to drive (rental) car necessary!

Quoy of Houtoun is a traditional farm house on Orkney that has been renovated perfectly and with love to details. There is one B&B room in the main building and I believe 3 cottages adjacent to it to rent. I stayed in the B&B and having seen a number of B&Bs in Scotland until now, I clearly think this one...
