We knew not only the previous owners (brother-sister), but their parents. As others have pointed out, the hotel has barely changed since our earliest vists in the late 1970s, with the exception 15 odd years ago of the river-side conservatory. The new owners have a lot on their hands to modernise the hotel, but it nonetheless remains as a pleasant... More

We did not spend the night in this hotel as I have a house in the area. I have been eating at this restaurant for over twenty five years now and for the majority of this time it was owned by a brother and sister partnership with very few changes being made to either the building or the food served.... This was another wonderful visit to this lovely situated hotel on the river. Run by brother and sister and young keen professional staff this hotel is one of the friendliest we have ever stayed at. This was not our first stay and will not be our last. The riverside restaurant on the terrace is one of the best experiences ever.... More
