Stayed here overnight to visit family in Bristol. The hotel is on a busy main road, so it is noisy at bedtime and you can hear cars throughout the night and early in the morning. The room was average size, clean and comfortable. We had booked for breakfast and it was dreadful and staff were unhelpful. We helped ourselves to... More

This was a last minute find as all the hotels we tried in Bristol were either too expensive or full, we therefore had no idea of the quality of the Swan. The staff make this place, they were wonderful, friendly and helpful, the food was very good indeed (as was explained - "award winning") and the room was basic but... More

I stayed for business as located just off of M5. The room wasn't huge but was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. I arrived too late for dinner. A very nice hotel at a reasonable rate, although I paid less than advertised through laterooms. Would recommend it.

Stayed here overnight for business and was impressed with the value for money and service. It's more of a Country pub with external houses that have been converted to house guests, they've done a good job, the rooms are spacious, good decor, comfortable beds, very clean and have thoughtful touches and if it wasn't for the busy road and the... Take care when it is cold. The heaters in rooms 2 & 3 are operating for 2 hours max. It was was freezy in last March and it was very painful to take a shower in those conditions ! No solution provided after claims at the front desk. In addition the hôtel is quite far from city center. Breakfasts are... More

Hi, Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry you found the rooms too cold. We are aware of the issues surrounding the 2 hour timers in some of the rooms which is why we are in the process of replacing these with thermostatic control panels, which is actually already in room 2. These maintain the room at whatever temperature our guests... More

We spent a night and though we didn't eat tin the evening, we were wowed by the cooked breakfast , which was better than the posher hotel we went on to! I found the heating- either on or off for a fixed period but unadjustable temperature wise, a bit aggravating but would stay ther again. My partner was impressed by... More

Visit to daughter in Bristol brought me to The Swan and what a good decision is proved to be. The place combines the relaxed feel of a country pub with a real ale option and a town tavern where the proprietor is making an effort to drive his business forward with initiatives aimed at pulling in custom when the tourists... This is a nice old building and rooms are clean and comfortable. Unfortunately I was in room 8 which is right by the main road and so was kept awake much of the night by the traffic. I can`t comment on the breakfast because they don`t start until 7.30 a.m. which was the time I needed to leave. Most hotels... More

Hi, Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately the road noise is an issue in a couple of the front rooms if you're a light sleeper, however, we do always try and accommodate this by moving our lighter sleeping guests into the back rooms. We start breakfast at 7.30pm but we do offer a number of options for those guests wishing to... More

Stayed 1 night on business. The rooms are in a couple of separate small buildings and it was a bit of a fumble to find everything until I realised it was French-style timed lighting in the public areas. (Just press the lighted button and all is revealed.) The room itself was fine but you need to ask reception if you... More

Great spot for M5 drives. Breakfast was delicious & hearty. Decent beer & food. Room basic but clean, warm & comfy. Would definitely use again. Only one small complaint but there's no comfy seats in the bar, think it's an eating pub rather than a cosy pint pub.
