The property oozes old world charm and the staff and the service are second to none. The room we had, room two, has a very comfortable standard double bed and a view of Wye high street which, in the case of Wye in May, is no problem as there is very little traffic. You get a full sized cafetiere with... More

We booked a couple of weekend nights in this B&B attached to a restaurant. We chose room 5 - in the stables, where there are some shared tea/coffee etc facilities and a very clean and comfortable (and warm) en suite room. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was excellent (and set up us very well for the day); they were... More

The personnel on the phone were very helpful when we booked, the host on arrival was very friendly, in fact all the staff were great. We stayed in the little coach house, which was perfect as we arrived back late and didn't need to go into the main building. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. The... This is the first time I have stayed somewhere that is ostensibly a restaurant with only a few rooms. I stayed here on my own but felt very comfortable and at home. The room was lovely, although the bathroom did let it down (but only a bit). The staff were all excellent, fantasic service and very friendly, I travel a... More

We booked a room at The Wife of Bath overnight not for a holiday but just to save driving home after a long busy day. It looked much nicer than many other bland local options. We are so glad that we did. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and shown up to our room. The room was warm (chilly... More

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and lovely rooms above (garden room was disappointinggly claustrophobic but nice views to next door's garden when I removed the dressing table mirror from the windowsill. Good parking and lovely building with views of listed buildings opposite.

Where do I begin. I had such high expectations of this establishment as my brother recommended the food. However the room certainly isn't worth 5 stars, very small, homely and lacking in 5 star touches ie when we were asked if we would like our room refreshing we came back to find the same bed linen on even though it... We only stayed on a Friday night at this lovely little place, but cannot recommend it enough. The room was excellent and very olde worlde with the most comfortable bed. My only moan was no shower but then a very old building must impose limitations. We had the continental breakfast which was excellent and there was plenty of it. Staff very... More

We hired half of the restaurant for my Mums 60th birthday in May. The service in particular was excellent, venue was beautiful. We had a champagne reception on the patio and a taylor made meal. They made a beautiful birthday cake, really I don't have any negatives apart from a little bit of scope creep (ie hand made chocolates with... More

Seven of us stayed there for two nights before and after my son's wedding in Canterbury - he booked (but didn't pay for!) it beforehand and we were delighted by his choice. The staff were kind, courteous and helpful, even going to great lengths to contact us before we had got too far after my mother-in-law left her passport in... More
