Unfortunately guest, let's call him Tim, doesn't explain why he thinks our hotel isn't an hotel. We speak 4 languages, offer all services of a good hotel and even more: pool with a separate one for small children, restaurant (local and international cuisine), reading and game area, free WiFi, laundry, free inside parking, night watch, airport transfer, guided excursions, taxi service and so on. All our 12 spacious (40 m²) bungalows consist of a sleeping room with double bed king-size and mosquito-net, TV, fan and wardrobe; a living room with 2 sofas, table with chairs, radio, minibar; a separate bathroom with hot shower. From the hammock at the outside veranda (with table and seats) you have a nice view to the tropical garden. And the best, all bungalows are 3 to 5 m distant from each and snoring neighbours. Is it possible that Tim only likes four-square concrete blocks? Sorry, but what does it mean 'grass is uncut'? The grass isn't uncut and however it isn't short cut too. In that dry season we prefer higher grass for not to dry out the soil and fade vegetation. Birds and other animals adore it. We look after our environment as an ecological system and try to keep it intact where it is possible. Water is a scarce resource and must not be wasted. May be it's not what Tim expected. Reception and restaurant area is cleaned at least twice per day and additionally in cases of need. The dust Tim is referring to is part of the colour of the grey tiles. Regrettably it's not specified what Tim means with 'swimming pool area really needs some refurbishment'. Every thing sometimes needs some refurbishment. But did it affect by any means the complacency of guests? Something didn't work or was broken? Obviously not. Pool area was always crowded, may be except the complainant. Pardon, the main problem are not insects. Insects are everywhere around the world. Insects determine human and other live on earth. Without insects mankind would be extinguished within 50 years. Cockroaches, ants and bees are insects, spiders and worms are not. But all are animals. Indeed they are everywhere. Specially ants are very useful. Many call them health police in nature. If we would kill all insects on our property there would be no more live. Fear and terror of insects some people suffer from can rationally not be understood. Its only ignorance. That doesn't mean we need them in our home, of course not. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience Tim and his Brazilian wife had one night with ants. We call it the ants' wedding flight, when they get wings and fly around a lamp for a short time until they lose their wings and disappear. It occurred rarely in the hotel restaurant and never before in a bungalow. But not ever somebody was bitten. Neither Tim nor his wife didn't show me bites. We were really upset as guests informed us, apologised and changed their bungalow immediately. Later poison was applied and the problem resolved. I can assure that our staff cares about insects in the bungalows, specially cockroaches. Bungalows are free of them (guest should have seen the bait traps). But as some life in the garden outside they can fly inside occasionally, however don't stay. The 4 days Tim stayed here included a public holiday and hotel was full, particularly by families with small children and babies. Nobody complained insects or other unbeloved animals. Obviously the only person who had some problems was Tim and/or his wife. And they had no kids. Tim, what do you think about all the other people with children and babies? They are all stupid, ignorant and/or carelessly, don't keep care of their kids and only waited for your advice? Nobody left the hotel before the reservation expired, not even Tim. With such a bad impression I would have left the hotel same day. 'Health hazard', what kind of medical or scientific qualification do you have for such a severe accusation? You don't even know which animal is an insect and which not. But you have got a fix on it. As I saw on TripAdvisor you like criticise hotels. Have you ever been thought being a little self-critical too? What do you think about your impression to other guests and the staff walking around the hotel and drinking in public out of an one-litre-bottle of beer, that obviously was bought outside? Did you ever enter into a restaurant with your own beverages and food? Probably not. So why do you guess it's normal in an hotel? And you classify yourself on TripAdvisor as a contributor or colaborador intermediário. Very strange.
