We turned up late as it was our wedding night, so we never saw anyone. But found out room with out any fuss. We found that the room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The bed was (as my now husband said ) the best his ever slepted in. We had everything there we needed. On waking in the morning... More

Staff were friendly and helpful from start to finish, giving me telephone directions when I got lost, offering to book taxis, offering lifts to pick up my vehicle the next day etc. I was able to check in early as I was going to a wedding so could leave my stuff in the room, for no charge, and the warmth... Needed some time out and this was exactly what was delivered. Delightful place, teh staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean, sizeable and comfortable. The tea and coffee were nicely presented with biscuits as well as a plate of fruit. These touches make a difference. The food was excellent and having eaten in many places the turbot... More

I travel extensively in the UK and I was booked to stay for 2 nights at a chain hotel nearby, however when I tried to get a colleague booked there as well it was full, so I decided to go on the internet and hunt for an alternative. Although the Trooper is 20 miles from my office I took a... More

Great pub and friendly welcome from the owner (I think he has won awards for such things and well deserves them). The lamb wasn't quite as it used to be but still OK, however the vegetarian dishes were poor. It's not hard to do an interesting veggie dish and they can be as good as meat dishes in the right... We are regulars at the Trooper. The service is great and very friendly. The staff go the extra mile even when the place is very packed and hugely busy. Steak is always good and their lamb is first class.

I stayed at The Trooper for 2 nights this week. I was given a very small room on the top floor, about 10pm when i was settling down to bed someone in another room started having a shower, next to my room were the hotel water tanks and pumps....what a noise. The next morning I was going to get up... More

I stayed at the Trooper Inn whilst on business in Hampshire. I was impressed with other Tripadvisor reports and booked this on the strength of that. I was extremely pleased with my choice. The hotel was located in the middle of rolling English countryside and was ver well appointed. I was greeted with a welcoming smile and the staff were... More

We went for a meal here the other week. We were very disappointed with the meals considering the price. Three roast lamb meals, each costing £16, had to share just one bowl of vegetables. The lamb was also substandard along with the fish and chip meals, costing £12 each, which were both very small. Although the standard of the food... More

This was our second visit to this pub/restaurant and once again we were not disappointed. All meals have been delicious and a good range of wines. Lovely country setting.
