I like the Hunters Hall Hotel because it is a lovely traditional building with friendly staff and good amenities. No it doesn't have a pool at the back and a 5* restaurant, but that was not what we were looking for. The rooms themselves are lovely and look quite new. The beds are so comfy and I loved the shower... More

We visited on a lunch time, lovely setting although on the main road is pretty quiet. We chose to sit in the garden as we had two dogs with us. The garden can be accessed through the car park as well as through the pub itself. The inside had three areas for seating including the restaurant end which leads onto... More

We stopped for supper here last week - good honest bar food at reasonable prices. Even better as they were doing a weekday deal. The surroundings are what you would expect from a well run bar - nothing fancy.

As a family we eat out fairly regularly and Hunters hall is on our list. But the last two times we have visited we have been very disappointed with the service. Christmas 2012 we decided to treat ourselves and explore a hassle free Christmas dinner! We picked Hunters hall because on the face of it you would expect a slick... More

My daughter and I have just spent a night at Hunters Hall. We managed to arrive two hours late for our dinner reservation - we did ring through and were told not to worry, our reservation was held. When we eventually arrived we received a friendly welcome and were given the keys to our room which had a huge and... More

Had a function tonight and felt so annoyed I would review as soon as I got in. Had a private gathering for approx 20+ with pre ordered menu. Service was standard until the main courses arrived and then everything went downhill from there. Food was not that hot when it arrived and took 35 mins for all guests to get... More

This was our 7th Old English Inn and we find them a reliable company and this was no exception. The room met our needs and the food was plentiful and excellent value. The 4 cask beers were well kept and good value although the bar area was dark,Good outdoor seating and garden.

We were particularly impressed by the friendlines of all staff who despite being very busy treated you with courtesy and personal interest.. The menu offered was wide ranging for dinner and breakfast: it's not common to have Eggs Benedict and Kippers alongside the usual favourites. The quality of the food was of a high standard and also represented very good... More

I stayed for four nights with three friends on an Old English Inns special deal. The Staff were fantastic and the rooms spacious and comfortable. We had a twin room with an en suite shower room. The room was on the front and the main road can get busy around 6.15 am so if the sound of traffic bothers you... More

Just returned from our second stay; this time for 3 nights in Room 5. We last stayed in February last year and, like this time, it was a special deal. Eileen remembered us from last year and just as before, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was fine, with a king-sized bed and plenty of lovely hot water.... More
