We went to the Dinner Theatre at Annesbrook earlier in the summer and plan to go again soon - I've heard they are putting on another show. Absolutely loved it! Great setting for The Picture of Dorain Gray, great production, great food, drinking wine in the drawing room before the show/dinner and afterwards. My only regret was that we hadn't... More

I went to Annesbrook to dine, and watch a production of The Picture of Dorian Gray. I did not know what to expect before I got there, having never visited before. But I had a wonderful evening. The food was simple and tasty, and the production stylish and classy. The three high quality performers used the dining hall as their... More

This is a fun place to stay. Convenient to Newgrange, Knowth, Hill of Tara, and all the sites of the Boyne Valley. Yes, it is a bit faded, as the other reviewers accurately describe, but that is part of the charm of this old country estate, parts of which date back to the 1600's. Our bedroom room was huge, extremely... More

As a travel agent I'm always looking for something extra from travel experiences. Annesbrook delivered. Yes it is a little lacking in glossy paint but it more than makes up for it with old world charm and individuality. With the silent ambiance of later years it's easy to imagine the rich history that surrounds. Room sizes are bigger than overpriced... More

We were looking foward to seeing this place as the pictures seemed to indicate some grande estate. And yes, it was once a great estate complete with entrance portal and long driveway. But alas, the estate has seen better days and has fallen into some disrepair. It looks like it needed about a 2 million Euro renovation by someone who... More

We wanted a unique B&B close to Newgrange, and we won't soon forget our experience here. I felt like a character in a Daphne DuMaurier novel. Our host was mysterious and noncomittal and we roamed at will through the house and grounds without encountering another soul. This was obviously once a great estate, but it appears the owners have fallen... More

This is an interesting old house where the walls are covered in original art and you will eat in aging splendour with a view of the gardens. We discovered the place by accident and it really is quite hidden away but worth the search. The owner tends beautiful climbing roses and grow organic vegetables in the 19th century walled garden....
