This place, a typical example of South African seaside chic (ie expensively rustic), is in a great location, and makes a lovely romantic break - if you can afford it. The sea, as everyone notes, is right outside your window, and (when the sun comes out), the waves are just mesmerising to watch. You can walk straight out on to... More

We spent 4 nights here at the end of a 6 week tour of South Africa, and could not have had a more relaxing time. The house itself is in a stunning position overlooking the ocean, with a wide sandy beach a few steps down the dunes from the house ,We stayed in Room 1 on the ground floor, and... More

An easy drive from Capetown stopping at great farmstalls on the way, Paternoster is a treat for the senses. Whitewashed cottages, no ugly advertising or development, peaceful clean beaches, a nature drive nearby, great food at several restaurants, and the lovely Oystercatchers Haven B&B. When the wind blows, stay inside and be cool (or warm in winter), enjoy the well... More

We stayed in room 3, a luxury suite with an uninterrupted birds eye view over the sea below. The feeling of being so close to nature can't be beat! No surprise then that Mandela chose this spot for a 2003 getaway. Wayne and Sandy are also very friendly hosts, who will do things like booking you into the best restaurants... More

We had the most magical weekend! Beautiful setting with wonderful views - right on the sea. Incredible hospitality with comfortable, warm and inviting accommodation. This is a place in a million and we can't wait to go back. Thanks to Wayne and Sandy for an incredible stay!

The setting is superb. A beautiful lodge right on the beach looking out onto very unusual rocks. Unfortunately the weather was not playing ball and the usually turquoise blue ocean was churned up and murky brown. Visibility was almost zero for most of the 2 days we were there so we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the walks with... More

We have just returned from another wonderful stay at The Oystercatcher's Haven which we were fortunate to discover nine years ago and have visited every year since - sometimes twice a year. The negative description of the property contained in the review of 15th February 2012 is wholly inaccurate. Part of the charm of The Oystercatcher's Haven is how the... More

We stayed in the downstairs room for 2 nights. The room is comfortable with an en-suite bathroom, and a tv and mini bar in room. There is a private veranda, but the weather didn't allow us to utilize this. The fire place in the main lounge was however used, a firm favorite! Breakfast is ample, and thu took the liberty... More

A really special place to stay - we stayed in the upstairs suite which has the most amazing view and the balcony is perfect to just sit on, catch the sun and watch the waves. Sandy and Wayne were perfect hosts and breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip to SAfrica. We would definitely love to... More

A small piece of paradise located at the Atlantic Ocean with direct access to the beach. Our suite (No.3) was spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable with a small balcony facing the ocean which we enjoyed very much. Sandy and Wayne gave the house much character and a very lovely personal note. We felt like at home and very much appreciated... More
