Just come back from a 2 night stay which we totally enjoyed. Hotel is partly refurbished and the areas already done are very nice and modern. Just come back from a weekend break booked on groupon. Brilliant deal, great value for money. The hotel lobby and seating areas are very pleasant and the rooms were large and comfortable, with great tv and tea and coffee making facilities. The Golf Hotel and Spa is a complete misnomer as 1 - No Golf and 2 - No Spa On arrival the bar was shut with no access to tea or coffee. The a la Carte menu is expensive at £28 per head when the selection includes Scampi and chips (reconstituted) bangers and mash, gammon and egg etc....more what you... More

Stayed here on a group on deal. Was a good deal, food was good - no restrictions on menu for deal night, we were ab,e to eat steaks without extra charge!! Room had nice big tv and bed. Excuses after excuses, no available staff, poor attertude to hear faults. Was such a disappointment, a total waist of money. Miss leading Spa "what Spa!". Never again :( I want my money back! More

We didn't get a refurbished room which is a shame, but it was still very nice (but in the photos of the refurbed rooms, the bathrooms look a lot nicer!) Stayed 14/15th December. Made most welcome and had one of the refurbished rooms, complete with a 52" flat screen TV. Large bedroom complete with 3 chairs, a table and writing desk.Large bathroom complete with fluffy towels.
