I stayed there for three nights and four days. It's a nice beach property with a good pool. The rooms are decent and good for two people. Since its built close to nature and has lots of trees around, there are a lot of bugs and mosquitos. The hotel staff does provide coils for protection though. The food at the... More

The service was good, after some confusion on check it, it seemed they couldn't find our reservation. That was cleared up and we had two double fan rooms. The price was a lot cheaper than other hotels along the beach. The pool was nice, but a little shady, could do with some more loungers. We only ate in the restaurant... More

At a first glance a wonderful hotel with a wonderful garden - but they keep monkeys and hawks in small cages...the hawks cannot even spread their wings and the monkeys can hardly jump and have but one little branch inside their cage...it's horrible. I cancelled my reservation as soon as I saw how they treat the animals although the hotel... More

Beachfront. Quiet place. perfect for people who wants to relax. The room is simple, native style and comfortable but not convenient. The rooms doesn't have telephone and refrigerator. The food in the restaurant was okay but not that good. Price is affordable.

Well maintained swimming pool , very clean and no heavy chlorine smell. Hotels / cottage rooms I do not like, because the native "sawali" walls looked dingy and hides a lot of insects, bathroom have molds and water pressure is on the low side so heater does not work well. The Aircon though left "on" the hole day, it is... More

Alona Tropical has it all: clean, white-coral beach, access to good food and fantastic diving, and balanced amenties and pricing. It's not a western luxury place. Yet what really makes the difference is the attitude of the staff. The location is the best on Alona Beach: right near the eastern end (away from the thumping music bars and touts, but... More

Two couples from Australia stayed for 10 nights in March,2013 We had two poolside rooms with 'air con' (which was noisy and not very effective). Alona Tropical, however, is at the quiet end of the beach with shady trees and wonderful staff. Everyone was so helpful. Massages on the beach were a treat and very reasonably priced and breakfast was... More

Pros: - Nice tropical, rustic, and well kept surroundings/landscapes. I always saw employees raking leaves or cleaning the pool. - Location. It is at the end of Alona beach. Beachfront. - Pool - Game cottage (with lots of wooden sculptures) Cons: - Dark lighting. The bedroom is dimly lit. - Restaurant food is not worth the price. Walk along the... More
