You get good value for money and stay at a perfect place for exploring the spectacular Burren. We have booked a private room and got a 6-bed-room for the two of us. As there was a double bed in the room this wasn't a problem for us. The bathroom was not the biggest one, but had everything we needed. The... More

This hostel is exceptionally clean with a genuine warm friendly owner who really does care about the customer. The accomadation was modern, clean and excellent value for money. I even got the recipe for their famous Clare's Rock Brown Bread!! All extras are included in the price which is invaluable with young children. The location is truly in The Burren,... More

This was the loveliest place imaginable. The rooms were clean and nice. It was quiet. It was convenient. It was very inexpensive. It was roomy. There were games for the kids and a huge, fantastic kitchen. Very worthwhile. One word of warning. This is not a family run hostel. The hostess that was there when we arrived left at 9PM... More

Stayed here on a walking vacation , the place was spotless the owner was very helpful and the rooms were spacious and airy. No stores in this village so bring supplies, but there is a great pub and restaurant "Cassidys" (who gave us supplies for breakfast) More

We stayed at Clares Rock for 3 nights in Aug 2009 - me , my husband, 15 yr old daughter, 2 sons 9 and 8 years old. The hostel is very clean and comfortable. We had a 6 bed en-suite which was at least twice the size of so-called family rooms in hotels. We were a bit apprehensive as we... More

This was our last stop on a 2 week trip. I wish we'd found this sooner. We arrived rather late but the owner of the hostel came rushing out to greet us and show us to our room. He took us to the kitchen (the size of which I could only dream of having in my own house) and showed... More

Clare's Rock Hostel has it all - stunning location, clean rooms, comfy beds, spacious common area's and eccentric host!! At €18 per 6 bedded ensuite dorm room, which I had to myself, it's great value. Stock up on provisions before comming to Carron, or alternatively eat in Cassidy's Pub up the road - great food and very friendly staff, good... More

We were looking for accomodation as a basis for a short exploratory first trip to the Burren and Clare's Rock Hostel fitted the bill being central in the Burren and not far from the various plant, scenic and archeological sites we wanted to visit. Its quite basic, but very good value, being a mix of hostel and self catering rather... More
