Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love this camp ground, on of my favorite places in the North. The grounds are lovely! We stayed in a free standing unit/cabin, which admittedly was a bit tired. Hence the 4 stars, otherwise the place was perfect. (-the shower is quite small so not ideal for a larger person) There is lots of security and a gate is shut at night- don't forget to grab the key code before you go out as it is locked and the office closed. The beach is a short walk away and beautiful :)

We stayed one night in Kaitaia and we very disappointed with the accommodation options in town. We came across this camping park while out driving and booked a self contained cabin. This park is like a little oasis just a short walk from the start of the 90 mile Beach. The park uses backpackers to assist and so they are not always familiar with all aspects of the park or processes but not a big deal. The cabin we stayed in was great and had everything we needed, although an air conditioner or fan would have been helpful to cool the room down. We would have loved to have discovered this place earlier to avoid accommodation in Kaitaia! Not a lot of food options available in this little coastal village, best to stock up in Kaitaia before you head out.

We stayed here just 1 night in a campervan. The garden setting is really nice. The kitchen was small but there were also bbqs available. An excellent place for kids, great playground and rec room. Free wifi was a definite bonus! We would stay here again.

We loved it here, nice friendly ambience, each site is set in a landscaped garden setting, separated with trees and shrubs, lots of shade and mature trees everywhere. Washrooms clean and quite adequate, nice common room set up with a badminton table..The more adventurous can hire quad bikes to zoom around on the wide expanses of the 90 mile beach which is only a short walk away. Only downside, water taps more sparse then in other camps. .

good location for kaitaia and 90 mile beach trips! stayed in motel unit which had 2 bedrooms. perfect size unit for 3-4 adults with verandah and bbq! lounge/kitchen was of a good size no dining table and bathroom was adaquate. short walk from 90 mile beach (further down from where the tours drive). unit was clean and tidy and a good price.

SUMMARY - We stayed in the stand alone cabins on site. They are small but functional and reasonably priced. LOCATION - 5 minutes walk to 90 mile beach. FACILITIES - Communal table tennis, WiFi (paid). Our cabin had 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed, a very small kitchenette, a very small TV and a bathroom with a shower; plus a small deck outside with picnic table. STANDARD - Basic, functional but clean and modern. Hot water tank in stand alone cabins is not big enough for more than 2 frugal showers, let alone the 4 people the cabin could theoretically sleep. However, nice, communal hot showers are only 100m away.

We spent New Year '08'09 here the place was buzzing! There was a large mix of people here from young people to families with young children. The setting is lovely and only a 5 minute walk from the fantastic 90 mile beach. There are several options for accomodation from taking your own tent or motorhome to bach's and a large unit for groups.
