We stayed for 3 nights in November. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished. We ate in the bar every night and the food was excellent...varied menu, with plenty of veggie options. .... dropped in for a meal over the weekend on way home, they were very busy but who wasnt on bank holiday, had lovely food, great staff and nice wines/beer - I think the rooms are excellent so well worth a weekend or mid-week visit - be back soon

Just returned from a two night stay which we really enjoyed. The rooms are very clean with great comfy bed and lovely Victorian bath -and bags of hot water! The bar is cosy and we had no problem getting food quickly. Both evening meals were extremely good and we were looked after well. I would definitely stay again.

Although we did not stop here we booked a table for Saturday evening meal. It. Di seem a little chaotic with only a small eating area and the bar full of locals out for a beer. The most expensive accommodation on the C2C.....and if you get the upstairs back rooms....probably the worst accom on the C2C. We stayed here in 2007 when walking the C2C the first time and got a front room which was a much much better room. B&B has increased from GBP 55 to GBP 90 a couple in 5 years....over 60%!!!! Back... We have used a number of Inns / Hotels in the Lake District and this was the most welcoming of all. Food, beer and room were excellent value.
