This is NOT a resort. This is really 1 step up from a hostel. It is an inexpensive hotel, near (NOT directly on) the beach. Staff is very nice, and attentive. There is a small, but frequently traveled, road between the hotel and the beach. Also, there is a very loud club/bar just on the other side of that road, which plays music very loudly from Noon until Midnight or later, every night. There are also roosters in the unkempt lot next door, which start crowing around 2:00am. There are no beach amenities provided (lounge chairs, etc.). The "secure parking" consists of 4 spaces, with a piece of chain hung behind the cars. If you don't get one of these 4 spots, you're stuck parking on the road. There are a lot of stray dogs and cats on, and around the property. The restaurant downstairs (Pacific Palms) is good, but overpriced (fish and chips + burger w/ fries, and 2 frozen drinks = $52USD). The surrounding town, Playa Brasilito, is an authentic, average, Costa Rican town. Good, local restaurants and shops. It's located in between 2 resort towns (Playa Conchal, and Playa Flamingo), so there's easy access to a lot of activities. We never felt unsafe in the area. All of the local "Ticos" were very friendly! A 12-15 minute walk south along the beach will put you right on the fabulous Playa Conchal beach, where you will find a lot of the resort-like beach amenities (cabana/lounge chair rentals, frozen drinks delivered to you, etc). Please understand, I do not intend for this to be a negative review. Hotel Brasilito "is what it is." A no-frills, budget friendly hotel, near the beach. I just want others to be able to make an educated decision about the property.…
