What a wonderful weekend away. The rooms are lovely & very clean. The fresh coffee in the room is a great touch. The staff are excellent & nothing was too much trouble. The chef Edward was brilliant who put himself out to make our stay exceptional & amusing! The beer was great & a very lovely atmosphere in the bar... More

I was excited to visit this lovely village again after friends moved away a while ago, but I was completely delighted to find this frankly beautifully refurbished and turned out boutique inn. If you knew this place before it was made over I can assure you its a completely different place. The rooms have obviously been designed with huge care... More

A load of us stayed here for a family wedding. What a great choice - each bedroom full of quirk, charm and comfort. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into content and decor - be it the freshly ground coffee, caffetiere and fresh milk in your room, or indeed the luxurious mattress, feather duvet and assortment of pillows which... Went for an evening meal with the kids during the week. Good menu and delicious food - can recommend the fish and chips, Steak and Ale pie and the chocolate brownie was top draw! It's in a great setting in the pretty village of cranborne with lots of lovely walks nearby. The pub is dog friendly which was entertaining for... More

We stayed at The Inn at Cranborne in March. Jane, the very welcoming owner, has done an amazing job renovating the 17th century inn to a high standard boutique B&B. It is very country chic, with touches of luxury, including lovely Bramley bathroom products, beautiful decor, a fantastic fireplace and great food. This is a great place for dog owners.... More

We took our 18 year old son and Westie for a stay at this wonderful hotel. Jane and her staff are great hosts. The bed was the best, even better than at home and we all felt completely rested even though we only stayed for one night.

Excellent lunch of steak & kidney pudding - hard to find these days but this one worth the search. The vegetables including shredded cabbage cooked to perfection. We each had a very nice glass of red wine (Merlot I think). Weren't so taken by the ale we had before the meal - probably was the Badger which as someone said... More

Decided to visit for a lunch on a Sunday whilst on holiday after reading good reviews. Food was not that tasty ,had... More

Dear Disappointed. I am so sorry you did not enjoy your experience. Let me try and clear up the issue of cosiness. We have two areas. One is the Village Bar which is the oldest 16C part of The Inn with very old wood beams, a fireplace which is usually lit but does have the door to the Gents near... More

Within this 17th Century building, Jane Gould has brought about her own vision of a traditional English Country Inn. Amongst the wood burning stoves, cosy corners and sharing tables you will find hearty interesting food, lovingly restored bedrooms featuring large beds with snuggly duvets and a choice of pillows and fabulous en-suite bathrooms with powerful showers, some roll-top baths and Bramley products. The daily changing menu is interesting but not overwhelming and there is always great range of well-kept Real Ales, including the Inn’s own Fleur Ale, brewed specially by Hall & Woodhouse. The Inn at Cranborne is fast becoming a focal point of the delightful village of Cranborne, set as it is in the heart of Cranborne Chase with its ample opportunities for fishing and shooting. It is a short drive to the New Forest, the beautiful Jurassic Coast and the sandy beaches of Bournemouth. Winborne, Salisbury, Shaftesbury and many gardens and historic places are within an easy drive.
