Went here for a carvery on Sunday with a large group of friends including a few children and the service was top notch despite being incredibly busy. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival, quickly served drinks and plated up our food at the help yourself carvery. All meats were cooked perfectly and the parsnips were a huge... More

I was booked into the White Horse Inn by a company I was working for. Having stayed a single night there, I can certainly say that i'd be happy to stay again! The room itself was average - a decent size, quite warm - but the shared shower left a little to be desired - with mediocre water pressure and... More

I am not a real fan of carvery but i was definately bowled over by the carvery at The White Horse. The plates were hot, the meat was tender, the choice of vegetables was absolutely superb - they even had peas! Will be visiting again and reccommending - absolutely superb.

We staed here on our Lands /end-John O'Groats ride. Very helpful about stashing our bikes somewhere secure, nice meal in the evening, great breakfast. Really good place to stay, highly recommended

We have never stayed there overnight as we only live 'down the road'. However, having moved to Launceston only two years ago, we can confidently say that, as a pub and restaurant, it is EXCEPTIONAL. We eat there often (including for special occasions such as Christmas and Valentine's Evening) and the food is superb. The staff are exceedingly warm and... More

A lovely evening catching up with a friend over fantastic steaks on a deal, 2 steaks and good bottle of wine fo £245; can't beat that locally anywhere. The 'sharing' pudding for two was superb; although very simple and perhaps overpriced at £8.95 for what is essentially 'ice cream' but, given that other puddings were £4.50 ish, it wasn't too... We received a friendly welcome and the staff helped us take our luggage to our double room. The hotel is undergoing a makeover. The room was OK and had recently been decorated. However the en-suite makeover hadn't started and it was small, with a small sink, and in a poor state. There was a small tv in the bedroom and... More

Hi, glad you enjoyed your stay. The pub is getting nearer the end of that big makeover and it's looking great. New bathrooms are the next big project. Hopefully they'll be finished by the next time you get a chance to stay. Lucy More

I stayed here in August 2010, (options didn't extend that far), as the first stop on my Lands End - John O' Groats cycle ride. I found the staff, food and accommodation very good. My room had a large double bed in a relatively spacious room, with a view of the street outside. In order to travel light, I had... More

We ate here during the bank holiday weekend.Excellent food at a very reasonable price. The staff were more than helpful and, genuinly friendly without being patronising. We spoke with other customers who were local and, they too were pleased with their meals. Some of the customers were staying guests and, told us to stay there next time that we were in the area as...
