While the place is a little out of the way, its more than worth the trip. The family is lovely and were happy to answer even (in my opinion) the smallest and silliest questions. Aras is exactly what it says it is, good accommodation at a good price. And it's easily the best night's sleep I've had since I began... More

Stayed here for a few days in June and was happy with it. There was nobody there when I arrived but eventually somebody showed up and sorted me out. Rooms: large and comfortable. Only problem I had was that it was very cold at night. Good sized bathroom. Communal room fine, basically a large family kitchen with good facilities. Parking... More

I booked the hostel for the first week in July 2010 and also in July 2011. We booked 60beds for the purpose of organising an Intercultural Summer Camp. It is a perfect venue for groups/ services looking for space away from their everyday environment. It is a special place because the location is as close to wilderness as you can... More

We don't usually stay at Hostels or in such remote locations so it was with a degree of trepidation that we approached our stay, however we were reassured by the excellent reviews. Paul called us before we arrived to check our room requirements since I had listed that wife has walking difficulties. Although they have a room with wheelchair accessible... More

Had a relaxing, restful stay in Glen Columcille. Friendly, hospitable and helpful hosts. The comfortable, and clean en suite bedroom with free wi-fi and TV gives you accommodation which is more the standard you would expect in a good hotel than in a hostel. Breakfast is excellent and somehow Paul and Sharon have breakfast timed to suit each guest. Comfortable... More

Had a nice stay in Glencolumcille. Very warm welcome from Paul, the manager. Accomodation is simple but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent in pleasant dining room/Kitchen which is available for use if you are self catering. If you need dinner provided you may have to travel to eat as there is little available locally. Area is remote which is... More
