Points of Interest

1. Start of Trail

Leave parking area and head uphill through seasonal gate. Rocky in a few places. Watch for hikers on the trail.

2. Begin Loop

Loop can be driven in either direction, but we went right. To go direct to camping and picnic shelter, go left.

3. Stay Right Uphill

To continue loop in counterclockwise direction, stay right. F.S. 194.2B on left is shortcut back to other side of loop. Trail starts to climb and you soon encounter steepest spot on trail.

4. High Point of Loop

Bear left and head back down the mountain. Unfortunately, due to thick forest, you can’t see much from this high point. As you descend, you’ll encounter intermittent, steep rocky sections.

5. Picnic Shelter

Picnic shelter on right makes a great place for group get-togethers. Lots of dispersed camping in this general area.

6. Hard Right Downhill

Make a hard right turn downhill on 194.2A that takes you back to start. Straight is shortcut back to other side of loop. Go this way if you want to go around again.
