Edinburgh for young kids

Edinburgh for young kids
The recent arrival of a pair of giant pandas should give a much-needed shot in the arm to the city's venerable zoo. Other child-focused attractions include the charming Camera Obscura, painless lessons in geology at Our Dynamic Earth and a crash course in the toys of the pre Xbox/Wii/Nintendo era at the Museum of Childhood. Best of all, however, are the terrific array of child-friendly, hands-on exhibits at the dazzling, revamped National Museum of Scotland.
Good for: Families, Groups, Seniors, Individuals
Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter

There’s a wholesomeness to the construction kits and embroidery sets that once kept little fingers busy in a world that embraced the notion of "Improving Sunday Toys," while train sets and dolls houses have enduring appeal. If the implacable stare of the massed ranks of a compendious collection of dolls becomes a little unnerving, there are dressing-up boxes, and regular organized activities to provide diversions. Less
