By far the most expensive trip on my list, so it unfortunately will be many years before I can swing this one! But I think it will be the most memorable vacation ever! Although Johannesburg is the closest big city, I also want to see Cape Town and the surrounding area, particularly the Constantia Wine Route.
The only city in the world that is situated on two continents! The layers of history that this city has are really mind-blowing. Must-dos will be the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and of course all the amazing food!
I have a huge fascination with the ancient Greeks and Romans, so this fits the bill perfectly having seen both of those civilizations. The Library of Celsus looks amazing. Another good thing about this site is I would be able to combine it with a trip to Istanbul.
I would love to hike the Inca Trail leading here. The views from the top look spectacular! Cuzco seems like a great historical city to use as a jumping off point.
The islands around Tahiti look to be some of the most beautiful in the world. I'm not much of "beach vacation" person, but I would make an exception for Bora Bora and Moorea! One of those overwater bungalows will be a must!
I would love to take a small cruise that goes to some of the more remote islands, as well as spend a couple of days in Quito first.
I'm a sucker for a beautiful harbor, and Hong Kong's Victoria looks like it ranks up there with Sydney's and Rio de Janeiro's. Due to over a century and a half of British rule, it seems to have a unique "east meets west" atmosphere.
I'm not much of a "cruiser", but I would like to take one that sails through the Panama Canal. I would like an intinerary that stops in Cartagena, Columbia... it looks like a beautiful colonial city with loads of history!
The temples and gardens of this city look so beautiful. It seems convenient to take the bullet train from Tokyo, that way I can also spend one night at the Park Hyatt first, which I've wanted to do ever since I saw "Lost in Translation"!
This city in the far north would be my number one choice as a place to see the Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights. My second choice would be Fairbanks, Alaska. This would be higher up on my list but I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather!
