The perfect three day trip to Southeastern Pennsyvlania
These gardens are beautiful everywhere you look! Love the orchid and banzai tree exhibits. If the weather is good, this can be a fabulous part of a perfect day.
Perfect place for lunch while at Longwood. Food is at least 3 star quality, and feature dishes with local mushrooms. Desserts are not to be missed.
Nice boutique hotel. Though our room was smallish, it was relaxing, clean and comfy. Close proximity to Phila. Phlash bus, which is a great way to traverse the city.
Very nice for Sunday brunch! Food is good, but music is the feature, and it is wonderful.
If your trip is a romantic one, the Melting Pot is a great option! What could be better than fondue and champagne (or a chocolate martini if you prefer?) Skip the "special" as a la carte is less expensive. Not gourmet, but I love it anyway. Be sure to mention if you are celebrating a special occasion.
"The people meet on South Street" because it is so fun! Starbucks for early in the morning; cheesesteaks because, well, you know why, I don't have to tell you. For the health-conscious, there is a wonderful organic/gourmet market with a fabulous salad bar. Perfect for lunch! Lots of shopping here too.
There are dozens of fabulous restaurants, but if the budget permits, (and you reserve in advance), go to Le Bec Fin. This is the place for that "once in a lifetime" meal. The sommelier understands food/wine pairing; food is wonderful (loved the crabcakes & filet). Do not pass up the cheese course! (unless you hate cheese) Our bill was $400 because of the wine, but since you might only ever do this once, go all out. Don't worry about it being stuffy, the staff are gracious and not snobby at all. (Fairly formal dress though).
Pick a museum! Nearly any of them are worth going to. I love the art museum as there is something there to interest nearly anyone. Saturday mornings, the Italian Market is very fun, but if you go there, you might plan for refrigeration needs, as it is hard to not buy food. Stores with specialty ravioli, Italian meats and cheese, etc. The Philadelphia Phlash bus is a bargain with a day rate of $4 or a family day rate of $10.
