Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Rob GBellville, South Africa1,317 contributionsThis pass is on the N7 national road and is well tarred with passing lanes every now and again. Great views on both sides.Written 29 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- postscript65Hermanus, South Africa1,124 contributionsIf you want to avoid the N7 and are not in a great hurry, this route is a panoramic alternative. There are only 30 kms of gravel but some tricky hairpins at the summit.Written 2 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dewald RCape Town Central, South Africa2,629 contributionsThe Piekenierskloof pass between the towns of Piketberg and Citrusdal on the N7 is an easy drive with beautiful vistas on both sides of the mountain range. When going uphill there are a number of dual lane sections which helps with the slow trucks and the downhills are relaxed with no very sharp bends. On both sides of the pass there are a couple of view points where you can stretch your legs and take in the views and there are also a couple of restaurants at the top where you can grab something to eat. The road is tarred all the way and in a good condition.Written 7 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 746lindsaydBothasig, South Africa23 contributionsSo great seeing the rock art!
Truly beautiful esp when you think it was 6000 years ago!
But be warned a 4x4 is advisable due to gravel road!Written 9 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Despite arriving in a terrible storm, the few days we spent at The Baths, was just what we needed. Quiet, relaxation and comfort.
Our flat was well fitted for self catering, even with a prvate jakuzzi. Lovely small restaurant available and very well priced. The baths themselves are wonderful, especially the 6 small ones at the waterfall behind Dwarsgebou. The surroundings all lead to relaxation, even the lovely walks one can do.
If there is a negative, it must be the road leading from the main gate up to reception, that depite being well maintained remains a dirt road. That said, we have already rebooked for a breakway at The Baths in April! It would also be really good for management to publish the temps of the 2 large baths, as others do, so users know what to expect.
Many thanks to all concerned who are so friendly and helpful. See you in April.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On arrival the staff were super friendly, it was our first time for everyone so we were all a bit nervous. The girl who took us ziplining was so reassuring and amazing with the kids. We were all convinced we were professionals at the end. I highly recommend to do this when you in the area!Written 12 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rob GBellville, South Africa1,317 contributionsStunning views, tough climb to get to the top but well worth it. Signage could be improved. Can be a bit difficult to follow.Written 29 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
