Visit the Te Anau Glowworm Caves – an underground network of limestone caves lit by thousands of glowworms. In the darkness they produce a glittering display. Carved out by the force of the river, the underground world is surprisingly beautiful with whirlpools and roaring waterfalls. Begin with a scenic cruise across Lake Te Anau and then our nature guides will take you through the caves in small groups and in boats. Departs Te Anau.

"The overnight trip was well organised and varied with catamaran tour, bus crossing, boat in the rain and towards the sea and seal colony and along waterfalls, the quiet overnight stay with excellent buffet dinner, the silence experience and the whole tour back.
We even were accompanied by a group o..."f dolphins riding on the bow-wave of the ship.
The explanations of the tour guides were to the point, also in the little boat ride; even then the small drizzle of the rain did not affect the quality of the experience.
The panorama's of the high fjordland with the hundreds of waterfalls during the rain made this rain experience extra special, while the next day with dry weather the views were greatly different in that respect.

"From Queenstown to Milford Sound, we took a bus. Along the road, we saw green mountains, lakes, streams. The bus dropped us at some places where there is flowers blooming coving grasses and snow mountains, which are extremly splendid. At Milford Sound, you would praise what you see there. Snow mount..."ains stand above the sea! Sea is clear and seaguls flies though the sky. Seals lies on rocks lazily... What a beautiful place.

Doubtful Sound Wilderness Day Cruises - Real Journeys
"An awesome excursion ... Doubtful Sound is everything you expect from a fjord! Real Journeys, due to some smart moves by it's owner, is the only land-based tour that can get you to Doubtful ... you have to first drive to a lake, board a boat across it (a beautiful 45-60 min cruise), then board a bu..."s to drive across the divide (gravel road pass) to the boat that takes you on the sound. Take your own food, or order the picnic lunches (good) from Real, as there is no place to otherwise get food We had such good weather our day, we were able to go out on the Tasman Sea (don't count on this!). We saw waterfalls, hanging valleys, fur seals, sea lions, blue fairie penguins, albatross, and bottle-nosed dolphin. It was a treat when they turned off the engines for a few minutes while the dolphins were playing ... it was so quiet ... unlike Milford Sound where there are multiple excursion boats and more private craft. If you only can get to one of the sounds, there is no doubt it should be ...
