"Don’t miss this experience of a lifetime tour. We’d been to Normandy and the landing beaches before on a tour but this time were traveling with 2 other couples who had not. We only had one day and wanted to see as much as possible. I read about Eric online and after some discussion decided to bo..."ok him. We went along for the ride. How fortunate we were!
Eric is so much more than a guide. He brings the day to life – hour by hour, moment by moment. He tells the story of the men; of the villagers; of the wounded; of the young and of the old. We began at Sainte Mere Eglise – did you know that 2 men were caught on the steeples there? Eric did and told us both stories…..those and many others.
All day we drove around the Beaches of Normandy and the surrounding towns, stopping at a bridge or a field or a monument out in the middle of nowhere and Eric shared with us what happened there – not just facts. He painted a picture for us, drawing from the vast amount of research he h...

"The review above by flsunshinegal says it all beautifully. Husband, daughter, son-in-law who is a WWII history buff, and I spent a day with Eric of Normandy Town and Country tours in September 2009. We were a little late in trying to arrange a tour, and Battlebus Tours was full and referred us to ..."Eric. We are so happy that it turned out this way. The anecdotes about individual soldiers holding a bridge, hanging from the church steeple, landing in the flooded marshes... brought history to life for all of us. While I could have been satisfied with fewer specific particulars about machine gun nests and battle plans, the son-in-law appreciated every detail. Having an excellent guide really made the day a totally different experience than if we had been doing it on our own. An added bonus was the excellent email communication with Michelle whi...

"The south west corner of orne in Normandy is often overlooked as a visitor destination as people hurtle past on their way to the landing beaches or Le Mont St. Michel.
With a little time to spare this area will capture your heart. From the apple and pear orchards with the distinctive vaches norm..."andes grazing beneath to the biscuiterie de l'Abbaye at Lonlay 'Abbaye there is something here for the history lover, the gourmet, the gourmand, the cyclist the rock climber and the botanist. The voie verte along the track of the old railway offers miles of safe and attractive cycling and the ridges of Amorican stone offer adventurous climbing. The rivers welcome fishermen and canoeists and the little towns and villages are full of delightful hidden corners and small family run eateries. Come and see for yourself.
