Visitors can tour the most highly decorated aircraft carrier of World War II, now a floating museum since its retirement after 48 years of service, a longer tour than any other ship in the U.S. Navy. The 16-story "Blue Ghost" displays military artifacts and more than a dozen aircraft, and visitors can explore the vessel, watch a video, and try a flight simulation.

"We took my disabled brother here and it was his first time to a beach where he touched the sand and felt the ocean water on his feet and he is 56 years old. This is is a great beach to visit! I didn't know Texas even had beaches with blue water as I was comparing it to Galveston. This place is lik..."e going to a far away retreat. They also have wheelchairs to use that can go on the sand!! The ramp all the way to the beach area is so useful and makes trips to the bathroom with two little kids and a disabled person much easier.
There are showers but don't expect any hot water as there is none.
If you have kids be sure to visit the hands on exhibit they have there. Rey will answer all of your kids questions.

"My husband, nephew and I visited the USS Lexington on our recent trip to Corpus Christi. Unfortunately, we only had about an hour to visit. Still, we were able to see about half of the ship. Two to three hours would have been ideal. I was pleasantly surprised with the interactive displays and my hus..."band and nephew were thrilled that they could actually climb onto a piece of equipment and maneuver and aim the huge guns.
