Overall this was a good activity. We saw most of the animals and got to see the bears being fed. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

We concluded our 12 day trip to Alaska with a visit to the Anchorage Museum, which is well worth the visit. However, I would advise anyone considering the trip to visit the museum first. It's a great primer into the land, the history, and the people. There are so many highlights to Alaska its impossible to capture the scale and scope. Buy a guidebook, get advice, and plan accordingly. If you're even remotely attracted to the outdoors and wildlife you can't go wrong. The scenery is spectacular and the wildlife is abundant. But be advised; be prepared to be flexible for weather conditions and travel changes. Plan for "what if" options because there's always something else to do, and plans don't always go as expected.

This trail is stunningly gorgeous. The hill into Kincaid park are steep for a rental bike so I had to walk some parts. I got to see a moose and baby right off trail.

FREE! The outside villages provide an excellent overview of how the various native Alaskan tribes lived. I enjoyed seeing the items inside each of the residences. There are several totem poles, sleds, and a very nice gift shop.

I was visiting Alaska - Anchorage specifically for the first time, while I was at a conference for work. We had some free time, and I looked up some things to do. The tram came up as a recommended activity, and boy did it not disappoint!

The tram is located at the Alyeska resort, which is about a 50 minute drive from Anchorage.

We bought the $60 package, that gave you a ride on the tram, and $25 to spend on food up at the top of the mountain.

The tram takes you only 2,000 feet up (which is crazy, because it seems like it would be a lot higher!). There are walking trails that you can get there as well.

On the way up, you can start to see some breathtaking views of Alaska.

We were there in September, so it wasn't snowy, but surrounding us were mountain peaks that were topped with snow.

We also ate in the café, and the food was great!

Totally recommend as a day trip from Anchorage if you have the time!

We were fortunate enough to visit it on a cloudy day. I believe that was the perfect condition for capturing the glacier's bluish color. We booked this tour in Anchorage, which included the Alaska wildlife conservation center, Girdwood, and Alyeska resort. All of these places are worth visiting, but the glacier is truly a gem. The entire day's experience was unforgettable. As our boat approached the glacier, a massive chunk of ice calved into the water with a resounding splash. It served as a somber reminder of the glacier's ongoing recession. Unfortunately, due to climate change, the glacier is rapidly diminishing. Around a hundred years ago, the glacier occupied the entire valley. Just 30 years ago, it could be seen from the visitor center. Today, we must take a boat ride across the lake to reach it

You can find gifts inside. They had a good variety despite being small. Also a few seating spots. They should add more seats. There are bathrooms. First stop for our cruise.

This was a short and step hike. Unfortunately we did not get to see views from the top as clouds came in about half way up. The locals race up and sometimes straight up but don’t feel shame in taking the switchbacks. This is a lung burner. It took us about 60 min to the top. Great views when not obstructed by clouds as we did see some of Cook Inlet on the way down. Beautiful flowers!

Fished for halibut in the Cook Inlet. Awesome experience and the view in the inlet is spectacular! We had a clear day and could view 4 active volcanos! Able to view many otter as well that were feeding in kelp beds.

We hiked the trail with three small children and strollers. It was a bit foggy when we started, but the sun shining through made for beautiful pictures. The children loved the glacier. About a two mile hike round trip, not a difficult hike.

Truly a gem of a place! Definitely stop by. They have gifts and a giant jade. Also cool signs outside. You can get free postcards and they mail them for free for you. Also outside we bought a rain deer dog which my husband loved!

Beautiful trail to hike along the lake. Children had an awesome time playing along the edge of the lake. Stroller friendly.
