Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- ME2AKJuneau, AK54 contributionsWe camped for five nights in area B, #62, in our Pleasure-Way RV van. Had a wonderful time with family members who camped nearby at another RV park. They bought a Discover pass and visited us around the campfire and for beach walks. We were there at the end of October. Nights were chilly, but days were surprisingly sunny and comfortable. I enjoyed walking to the beach and watching sunsets. Facilities were in good condition & sites well spaced out.Written 3 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - amydeloachHonolulu, HI759 contributionsA short walk to a beautiful lighthouse overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Two separate trails to get there. The trail is clean and there are two bathrooms available. The parking fee is $10 but it can be used at both light houses for the day.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - amydeloachHonolulu, HI759 contributionsSafe parking. You can use the same ticket for the North Head Lighthouse. The trail is very slick when it’s raining. Very easy to find. Worth the hike! Along the way, you can go down to a beautiful private Cove.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - VOgirlPortland, Oregon250 contributionsHad a nice hike that started at the Interpretive Center and went to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. It was a short 1.5-mile walk on a mostly paved trail. Beautiful views of the channel and Deadman's cove. The oldest lighthouse in the area.
The center was rather small and we only looked at the exhibits on the free side which gave info on the coastline. If you paid $5, you could learn about the Lewis and Clark experience.

This is the best part of the cape disappointment hike. I love the trail let’s you go down to the beach. The view from up high is stunning but better from the beach. This should be a must visit if in the area.Written 16 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nawt Karen12 contributionsAmazed how many hand painted items he's made, mind blown by his talent! Don was in the shop painting and talking to us when some people walked in asking if he had any shirts... He said "sure what do you want on it?!" grabbed a blank shirt and ready to paint a personal one per request. Really interesting shop and amazing art work. nice guyWritten 9 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Colin ArchibaldKingston, TN4,468 contributionsLocated at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center next to the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. Several of the old Batteries are still in fairly good shape. Interesting place to stroll through and read the historic information.Written 24 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Noluck7Washington147 contributionsSo glad there are dedicated people who take so much of their time to preserve our communities history. We popped in on a rainy afternoon and easily amused ourselves with the model train station and the 1889 passenger train car outside. The recreated village store fronts were great, so glad we stopped in.Written 2 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FisibeeSeattle, WA187 contributionsWe stayed at the "At The Helm" pub and inn, which is on the boardwalk. So we took a stroll along the boardwalk before dinner. Its fun to look at the boats and watch the seabirds. There are lots of fishing charters based out of the port, and some galleries, but they weren't open when we were there.Written 15 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bonnie MRancho Mirage, CA13 contributionsThis was a fun place and the owners are the most knowledgeable people I've ever met when it comes to Lavender. - edge8400Valrico, FL504 contributionsNice place to stop for some scenic photos. Picnic'd here and caught a nice sunset. There are several nice info plaques providing data on the area. Perfect stop if heading out to the local lighthouses. Were treated to a nice meet with a small group of deer here.Written 16 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
