What travellers are saying
- williamsfamilycovTroy, OH673 contributionsWe visited with our 20 and 15 year olds, and our 5 year old grandson. Everyone had a good time!
It was a Sunday and the beach was pretty crowded but we didn’t have any trouble finding a good spot to set up camp.
There’s a jetty to rock scramble out on and fish.
A playground.
Well-maintained porta potties.
Water sport equipment rentals and floats and things for sale.
A snack shack
Water was comfortable late July and sand was hot!
Water stays pretty shallow for a while.
Really only negative was lots of people smoking on the beach and dropping their butts in the sand.Written 1 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I walked to the end where there was a short path to a quiet little beach. I would suggest bug guard. I did get several bites.Written 12 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- northernkPhoenix, AZ12,659 contributionsVery nice place to wander up the harbor and pier. Great for Bird watching of many varieties that like to come here, and a wander down the pier to see the light house and look back toward the coast line.Written 12 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Endokee10 contributionsWe were here during the off season (September) so didn't encounter birding crowds. The welcome center is large with lots of exhibits, very well done. We took the board walk to a small overlook on the estuary; there is a wooden deck with large binoculars which are free to use. Saw lots of water birds; it was so peaceful and beautiful there. The walk to the overlook is short, only about 5 minutes. If you love nature and especially birds, visit here.Written 11 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cindy P1 contributionMulberry Creek is an awesome place, even if you don't garden! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and Mark and Karen, the owners, are always extremely helpful and are happy to make suggestions. They helped me with my first garden last year - a No Dig- garden. Wow! Everything turned out great, and my veggies and herbs were delicious. I live in Michigan, about 2 1/2 hours away, and Mark was very accommodating when I called with questions. I won't buy my plants from anywhere else!Written 26 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IridescentkittieDexter, MI128 contributionsWe visited on a rainy summer morning and still had the best time. There is a great playground for the kids with ample shade and seating for the grown-ups while the little ones play. When you get bored there, walk down the short paved path heading south through the woods to get to the Children's Forest. (There are paper maps at the playground area if you need a visual.)
The Children's Forest is a beautiful wooded, grassy play area. It's beyond words - lots of little things to look at, such as wooden sculptures of animals and other items. The centerpiece is a slide and tunnel to crawl through, but really the whole area is just magical. I can't recommend it enough if you have little ones. So peaceful and beautiful. Wear bug spray and you'll be so happy you came!Written 26 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice place to go for a walk. It is nicely maintained for a free arboretum at a regional campus for sure! There are some plants off of the trails that are labeled as well.Written 18 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CoachJDCBethesda, MD118 contributionsI played this course two days in a row since my first day the experience was so positive. Greens, tee boxes and fairways were like walking on sculpted carpet. Conditions, particularly with the dry weather in the last month and a half were excellent.
Staff from greeting me in the parking lot to check in to the starter and Rangers were all professional positive and upbeat.
The course is flat, but challenging with dog legs and perfectly placed bunkers plus not one green is flat. I loved it. Choose your tee boxes carefully according to your game and handicap and you’ll have a terrific time. There are some very long par fives in a couple of long doglegs plus some of the par threes encounter water or significant carries.
Carts were in excellent shape and again I would check golf now since this is a private public course and from time to time excellent value is offered on golf nowWritten 26 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great public course. The only reason I didn’t give it a five is due to the slow greens.Written 4 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They were short staffed and Ken was very accommodating to our large group. The pizza was good too!
